DescriptionFour figures: (1) and (2) "Léveillé/Bonnet". Men in grey patched red and white striped trousers; battered blue-grey military tunics and hats, all trimmed in red; Léveillé figure is barefoot and has chicken and sack over right shoulder; and (3) and (4) "(Garde Nationale) L'Officier Republican et son escorte 8e tableau". Men in blue and white military tunics; white breeches; black furskin shako trimmed in gold, and red; the officer with gold buttons and epaulettes and black and tan boots; the escort with white buttons and red epaulettes and white gaiters. Designed using pencil and watercolour on cream card. Annotated in pencil and ink.
