DescriptionThis is a white, rectangular cotton cloth printed with green ink. The printed image consists of 4 frames, each warning of the dangers associated with unexploded landmines. The upper left image consists of a dead camel, to the right a bus. The lower left image depicts an explosion with people. The lower right image shows a man with a pair of oxen, ploughing. There are inscriptions printed in each frame and across the top in Dari and Pashto.
NarrativeSince 2002 Afghan refugees living in Pakistan have been encouraged to return home. While living conditions have not always been ideal, many refugees have never known ‘home' and are reluctant to leave. Not only is there great economic uncertainty in returning, there are potential hazards. These posters identify the most common types of landmines found in Afghanistan and the need for great care.
