Photo DescriptionLeaving Churchill February 15 the men of Exercise Muskox reached Eskomo Point six days later, their first stop along the 3100 mile Arctic trek. Shown above they roll out of Churchill base and take their last look at railway tracks and telephone lines. Pulling loaded towsleds the expedition will be supplied by air along the entire route. Planes will be based at Baker Lake, 400 miles north of Churchill, where an airstrip and supply base are being established.
