The 2 mile long, 2/3 of an inch in diameter, 2 1/2 ton steel wire in unloaded from the expedition's ship "Foza." The raft carries half of the weight. Two more coils are being put into the boat at left. Photo Location Greenland (72 00 00 N, 040 00 00 W) Custodial History Earliest known custodian is McGill University, Montréal; transferred to University of Calgary in 1973.
