Caption on back of photo: " The jig is up, Fritz - Coast Guard foils German weather base attempt. Two of 28 Nazi prisoners, their hands raised in surrender, are taken aboard a coast guard combat cutter off the northeast coast of Greenland. Sixteen of the prisoners were crewman of a trawler which the Nazis scuttled when they were being overhauled by a Coast Guard fighting ship. The other 12 were members of a weather observation staff, which Hitler had sent to Greenland to provide meteorological data vital to German's defense."
